I Am Selective About My Work Says Bhumika Chawla

Mumbai, 13th April 2022 – Actress Bhumika Chawla, who is popular for her work across all languages and medium, says she is selective about her work and would like to do roles which she can connect with on personal level.

Bhumika Chawla was interacting with NewsHelpline for her forthcoming release, Operation Romeo, which is a coming-of-age drama about police brutality. The film also stars Sharad Kelkar, Sidhant Gupta, Vedika Pinto, and Kishore Kadam.

The trailer of the film has gone viral, winning accolades from all the sectors, talking about her expectations from the film, Bhumika said, “An actor’s only wish with his work is that it reaches the audience, and they like the movie, and appreciate the hard work, everyone works towards that, and my expectations are no different, I hope this movie works”

Bhumika is playing a Marathi housewife, who is married to mean and brutal cop, played by Sharad Kelkar. Sharing her experience about working with Kelkar, she added, “Sharad is such a fine actor, the scenes which we had in the movies were intense, and Sharad Kelkar being such a great actor, that working in front of him, kind of enhances your performance, an actor is as good as the other actor in the scene”

Talking about her role selection and future role preferences, Bhumika said, “I am selective with my work, so if I get something meaningful, powerful, and good, a role where I feel that I can connect with the character, I’ll definitely sign-up such films”

Helmed by Shashant Shah and bankrolled by Friday Filmworks and Shital Bhatia, the film is based in the suburbs of Mumbai, this is a ‘coming of age’ film about a young tweenage couple Aditya and Neha who set out one night for an innocent date to celebrate Neha’s birthday. But what transpires that night, changes not just their relationship, but both of them as adults.

The film will release theatrically on 22nd April 2022.
